My new calling!

Sunday I was set apart as the new Young Woman's president! I have been the second counselor for the last 2 1/2 years or so, and was just getting ready to be released, then surprise!! I love working with the Young Women and don't think there is anywhere I would rather be, but I have to admit I am a little overwhelmed! I had some amazing Young Women leader growing up and only hope I can create some of the great experiences I had, for these girls! I chose some amazing women as counselors and am very excited to work with them. We had our first meeting yesterday and it went great! We are going to have a lot of fun together! I feel like I just barely graduated myself and should be to young to be the president, but of course we all know this isn't true-- I am plenty old enough!!! This will definitely be a new adventure, and I am excited! If any one has any good activity ideas or suggestions PLEASE let me know!!

Introducing Ma and Pa Davis!!

Brian and I have been called to be Ma and Pa for our stakes pioneer trek in June. We are very excited-well actually I am very excited, Brian is going mainly because I want to go! I never went as a young Woman so, I am excited for the experience. Brian has had to sacrifice four vacation days to go so, I really appreciate it. I have had a lot of fun working with the Young Woman and think we will have a lot of fun, we will have 10 to 15 "children" that we will be in charge of. We leave on my birthday, so not only do I turn OLD I have to hike my butt all over the mountains pushing a handcart!! Happy Birthday to me!! We are in charge of daily devotionals and family home evenings, so , if anyone has any great ideas let me know!! Also I am looking for my "Pioneer clothing" if anyone has any I can borrow I would appreciate it.

Oh the joys of little boys!

This is what I found in my kitchen the other night! I am not sure I am going to survive him!

Good thing he is cute!

Yeah, he is kind of a dork!

Now that it is getting warmer Brian has rode his bike to work a few days, and this is what he looks like when he leaves in the morning!! He says the mask keeps his face and ears warm, but I just think he thinks he looks cool!!

Spring Break!

Last week was spring break for us, which basically just meant Aspen didn't have preschool on Tuesday or Thursday. But, we still took advantage of it! The weather was amazing all week! We celebrated St. Patricks day with green pancakes, and a parade, then they spent the afternoon at a freinds house! Wednesday we took advantage of the movie deals going on and caught a afternoon movie, we saw Bolt, I know it just came out on DVD, but the girls think going to the theatre and having popcorn and candy is great, and for 50 cents who can beat that! We spent a lot of time outside, the girls loved riding bikes all over, we went on a few walks aroung the neighborhood and the girls rode their bikes and kept up great! Brian finished up with SOME of his basketball games. But, the best part was the weather! We even worked in the garden, getting it ready to plant! I was kind of a workout slacker, but it is back to it this week!
Porter wants to ride the girls bikes and is constantly trying to get them to let him!
This is Porter's new favorite thing, the girls drive him all over the place, but we have to belt him in because he thinks it is a better ride if he can stand up!!

Doing our part to feed the hungry!

While in Mesquite, the girls and I found some pinecones on a golf cart ride. I told the girls we could take them home and make birdfeeders. So, everyday they would ask "when can we make birdfeeders?" SO, here they are getting nice and messy!

Unfortunately, Brylee is the only one who has tried them, we haven't had any birds! Oh well, it was fun!

Tryin to get our sexy back!!

Brian and I have been trying to lose some weight and get our bodies in better shape. Brian has been doing great and lost some weight. He play basketball on a rec team on Monday nights, then runs on the treadmill Tuesday night, plays basketball at the church Wednesday night, then plays volleyball on a rec team Thursday nights, and then plays church ball with the Elders on Saturdays! He has been so busy, but he enjoys it! His church ball team is undefeated, and his volleyball team just took second in the final tournament.
I haven't been as motivated or successful! I go to a spinning class three times a week at 5 AM!!! And then yesterday, with much "encouragement" of my friends, I took a boot camp class. Let's just say today I will be taking ibuprofen every 4 hours, and even then I am not sure how fast I will be moving today. Right now I am sitting on the floor typing this and I am worried I won't be able to get up. I AM SO SORE!! I am hoping that next time won't be so bad- but I am not counting on it!
Next time you see us maybe our long lost sexy will be back!!!!

Chore's

I have been trying to get the kids to help out around the house. I made some cute little job charts, and they do a pretty good job! They do things like help with dishes (put the silverware away) , clean their room, make their beds, clean living room, help with lauyndry (they put their own laundry away in their drawers after I fold it). It is not always done perfectly, but I figure it is still teaching them a good lesson!

Uncle Steven strikes again!!

Uncle Steve came to visit a couple of weekends ago and of course the kids were thrilled. One night we were watching TV and Porter drug a blanket over to Steve and climbed up on his lap, it was so cute!!

Boys will be boys!?!

We have had a lot of fun with all of the new "adventures" that having a boy have brought us, but there are some that have been a little less fun!! He is in to everything!!! He can not walk by a drawer or closet without unloading everything he can get his hands on! His favorite at the moment is my utensil drawer and he thinks it is great to hit everything and everyone with all of my spatulas!!! We already have holes in the walls from him! Nothing is safe!!!

I found him in the shower with a yogurt container he found on the table.
And his favorite!!!! Toilet paper!!!! And toilets he thinks they are great, he loves to flush them or play in the water!!!

I left for two seconds and founs him IN the dishwasher!!! The tasmanian devil has nothing on Porter! Another fun first with him has been his obsession with his--well-- you know, He constantly has his hands down his pants-It drives me crazy!! I think I am going have to get onsies and put those in under all of his clothes so he can't get to it. It's so great when people go to talk to him and give him five and he has to pull his hand out of his pants first-or you go to give him a cookie and he grabs it with the hand that was previously down the pants---SO GROSS!! Well, at least he's cute!!
