Jordanelle

I am running a little behind with my blog, so bear with me for a little while! This summer we went to Jordanelle for a week with Brian's family and had a great time! Aspen loved waking up early in the morning to go fishing with Brian, while the rest of us snored away! It was great to spend some time with everyone and soak up some sun and get in some wakeboarding!

We had a fun summer and made lots of memories!

LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!

For Labor day weekend we went camping and Brian went bow hunting while we were there. Brian's friend Kyle came up to hunt with Brian. They would wake up and head up the mountain at 5 am. And would not come back until 10:30 or 11. Then they would head out at about 4 and would get back at about 9 p.m. And we would eat dinner and go to bed. So while the guys were out hunting, I had to get creative to entertain the kids. I brought up foam visors and necklaces that they could make. And I also brought playdough and watercolor paints so, they painted rocks, trees and leaves! We went on a couple of nature walks and gathered berries and sticks! They had a blast the whole time! It was great! Modeling their crafts! Painting a dead tree! All ready to find some deer! The only antelers Brian came home with! (he found them in the mountains) Trying to get dirty! Camping poops him right out!!

The Last Two Years!

It has been two years since we moved here, so I thought it was a good time to start a new blog with a little back tracking over the last two years. I would have to say I think they may be the two most eventful years of our lives. We moved from Herriman in August of 2006, to make a new start here in Jerome, Idaho! We lived in the KOA, in our trailer for the first month we were here until we could get into our rental house. Right away we were welcomed into our ward by some amazing people, that have very quickly became our close friends. We moved into our home in December, 2006. And things have been flying by ever since! We have added to our family first with a puppy, Jayde, then more importantly, with Porter in December, 2008. We have loved living here (much to the disappointment of our families). We do miss our families very much, but we have also met and befriended people who have become our "Idaho" family. Brian is enjoying his job, but I think he is enjoying hunting in Idaho even more, he has been able to do a lot of pheasant hunting, deer, elk and etc, etc... He has adjusted to becoming an "Idahoan" very well, he even has a straw cowboy hat! Aspen is doing wonderful! She is growing up so fast, she says things everyday that blow me away! She is in her second year of preschool and loving very second of it. She thrives on learning and being in a classroom environment. She is definitely my emotional one, but my mom says I deserve that! Brylee is sad she doesn't get to go to preschool, but enjoys the time with mom while Aspen is away, now if she could only get rid of Porter for a couple of hours! Brylee is finally potty trained, I thought she was going to be impossible to get trained. She is the type that will not do anything unless it is her choice. But it actually only took about four days and that was it!! Of course a little bribery helped! But she has been easier than Aspen was, she never has any accidents and even wakes up dry in the morning! It is amazing how different the two girls are- Aspen "can't" do anything herself, while Brylee wants absolutely no help with anything! I always have said Brylee may be the death of us, but I think we will just need to figure out what makes her tick and then she will be "easier" in many ways than Aspen! Of course I would not change one thing in either of them! They are both very much into Polly pocket dolls, especially the disney princess ones, Brylee's favorites are "Snow Night" and "Sleeping Booty" (and no, those are not spelling mistakes). Porter has been a kick to have in our family! He is ALL boy (which thrills Brian). One of his favorite things are steering wheels, he wants to drive everything! He eats everything and anything, and it shows!! He has become mobile recently and that has been a new adventure for everyone! I was just telling Brian that I have never worried about the electrical outlets with the girls but Porter is constantly trying to pry the safety covers off so he can get to the outlet!! He puts everything in his mouth (rocks, dirt, weeds, toys, shoes, playdough ECT..) He has a new facination with power cords, if something is plugged in he will pull it down and make sure it doesn't stay plugged in for long! Now he can move he has become an annoyance to the girls. Aspen is always telling me "mom Porter's bugging me", and during a fit Brylee was having the other day she even screamed "Stop looking at me Porter!!!"(oh great here we go!) The kids love all of their friends here, but they do miss family very much! I also love it here, and keep very busy. I have some wonderful friends who are always willing to help when needed! I am missing the fall colors that are all over in Utah, the only change we have is they cut the corn down!! I do feel like life is a little simpler here and it is nice! We love you all!
