Brian's arm is finally getting better, about a week and a half ago he had some more x-rays done and the bone had moved more. But, after consulting with the doctor they think he is still fine without surgery. He has just been given strict instructions not to push, pull or lift with that arm. And overall he is pretty good about not using it, but he still does more with it than I think he should. After doing a lot of yardwork Saturday it was pretty sore and his range of motion was limited, but after taking it easy on Sunday and a couple hot showers it seems to have loosened up some.
And to top it off i stubbed my little toe on the corner of the door the other day and hurt it pretty good. It swelled up and turned pretty colors. I was so mad, I have been running to get ready for some upcoming races I would like to run in, and even just bought some new running shoes! I couldn't even stand to put the shoes on it hurt so bad-I even had Brian take some x-rays and it was not broken, but it still was pretty sore. I went running Monday night and it was tolerable, but as soon as I was done running it was throbbing pretty good! We are falling apart-it sucks to get old!!

Did any of that make it into your mouth??
No reason to move back to Salt Lake now!!!
IT'S HERE!!!!!!

Brian was so excited he was going to camp out in the parking lot the night before so we could be first in line, but I talked him out of it! Not really, but he was really excited we went opening day and it was wonderful!!!! Now if we can only get some of those awesome movie theaters they have in Salt Lake we will be set!! We will have no reason to move back to SL ----except for you of course mom!!!! :)
Asparagus!!
One of our favorite things about living here in the spring is picking Asparagus! It grows wild everywhere, all along back roads and ditches. We take the kids and everyone gets out and walks along the road. They have fun being outside and exploring everything. Asparagus grows like 4-5 inches a day so we go back every couple of days and pick. Then what we don't eat I blanch and freeze for later! Yummy!

Out like a Light!!
Brian's Elbow
Last Friday night Brian was playing in a regional church basket ball game, and was tripped/pushed/fell, he caught himself and immediately thought he broke his wrist. He just shook it off and kept playing. By the time the game was over he was feeling dizzy and in some pain in his elbow. He was hoping to go golfing early Saturday morning, but when he woke up he couldn't straighten his arm, he couldn't grip anything and to put any pressure on it was very sore. He thought it was his muscle and that he had jammed it like you would your finger, or maybe pulled the muscle or torn something. By Sunday, after surviving the weekend on ibuprofen, I talked him into going and getting x-rays. And sure enough it was broken, very obviously broken!! And WOW he was mad :) He has a lot of things planned that this will interfere with. Monday he met with the orthopedic surgeon, and he said that he doesn't think that he needs surgery right now, if it was his right arm he would have done surgery, but for now it has a half cast on, and is in a sling. He goes in next Monday to have it re-evaluated, the doctor said if the bone has moved at all then they will have to do surgery. The only benefit to surgery is that he would be back to normal sooner, which is appealing for Brian. He was told it will take 12 weeks to fully heal. And maybe in 8 weeks he will be able to swing a golf club!! So, that means no golfing, no four-wheeling, no wake boarding and he can't ride his motorcycle!! Yep, he is pretty bummed!! Monday night he came home and mowed the lawn and took the sling off, because it was driving him crazy already---this should be a fun 8 to 12 weeks!!! Yesterday at work he had taken the sling off again, and the surgeon saw him and said "do you WANT to have surgery"-of course Brian said no- He said "then get that back on!!!" Brian is going to have to learn to slow down and relax---yeah right!!! Brian had golf games planned with his brothers and dad over memorial day weekend, and now those are out and he is so disappointed. We are trying to decide what to do about the pioneer trek Brian won't be much help one armed!!

Easter!! I know I know I am slow!!!!
This is going to be a huge post, I have been slacking in the blog department BIG time! This is going to be the beginning of some major updates! For Easter, my family came up to visit! The first night we went out to a great dinner, and let me tell you it was soo great to have help with the kids at dinner. Then, we came home and colored eggs. THAT was so nice to extra hands to help with!! Porter loved the way they tasted, vinegar yummy! His hands and face were stained blue. And he demolished a few eggs--he even threw one across the table! The kids loved coloring eggs and have asked multiple times if we could do it again. Then, of course we woke up the next morning to Bunny footprints and baskets!! Porter woke up first so he had played with everything before the girls even woke up!! Porter got a new bike so, now he can keep up with the girls!! Aspen got a T-ball set. And Brylee got a golf set. Along with, of course, a lot of candy! My Grandma Joyce made everyone eggs with their names on it, like she does every year, we all love them, thanks Grandma!! After breakfast we had an egg hunt in the backyard for the kids. And then we drove to Hagerman to see the Alligators. There is a spot that has hot springs so they raise Alligators in the warm water there. They are just behind chain link fence, and they are huge. It was a fun drive and great weather. We finished off the weekend with church on Sunday and a great Easter dinner!! We had a great time with them and we were sad to see them go! Here are just some of the pictures from the weekend ENJOY!!! (Sorry about the order I couldn't get them organized quite right!!)
