Last Friday night Brian was playing in a regional church basket ball game, and was tripped/pushed/fell, he caught himself and immediately thought he broke his wrist. He just shook it off and kept playing. By the time the game was over he was feeling dizzy and in some pain in his elbow. He was hoping to go golfing early Saturday morning, but when he woke up he couldn't straighten his arm, he couldn't grip anything and to put any pressure on it was very sore. He thought it was his muscle and that he had jammed it like you would your finger, or maybe pulled the muscle or torn something. By Sunday, after surviving the weekend on ibuprofen, I talked him into going and getting x-rays. And sure enough it was broken, very obviously broken!! And WOW he was mad :) He has a lot of things planned that this will interfere with. Monday he met with the orthopedic surgeon, and he said that he doesn't think that he needs surgery right now, if it was his right arm he would have done surgery, but for now it has a half cast on, and is in a sling. He goes in next Monday to have it re-evaluated, the doctor said if the bone has moved at all then they will have to do surgery. The only benefit to surgery is that he would be back to normal sooner, which is appealing for Brian. He was told it will take 12 weeks to fully heal. And maybe in 8 weeks he will be able to swing a golf club!! So, that means no golfing, no four-wheeling, no wake boarding and he can't ride his motorcycle!! Yep, he is pretty bummed!! Monday night he came home and mowed the lawn and took the sling off, because it was driving him crazy already---this should be a fun 8 to 12 weeks!!! Yesterday at work he had taken the sling off again, and the surgeon saw him and said "do you WANT to have surgery"-of course Brian said no- He said "then get that back on!!!" Brian is going to have to learn to slow down and relax---yeah right!!! Brian had golf games planned with his brothers and dad over memorial day weekend, and now those are out and he is so disappointed. We are trying to decide what to do about the pioneer trek Brian won't be much help one armed!!

Ha, Ha. I'm telling you stay away from church ball. Nothing ever good comes of it. By the way, when and where are you guys going on trek?
Sorry to hear about Brian's arm. I know how he feels I hated my cast that I had for 3 weeks and was a short arm cast and I didn't have to have it in a sling.
All those years of football and he does this playing basketball? Wow who would have thought basektball would become a contact sport?
